After a long wait, Shah Rukh Khan, the superstar of Hindi cinema, has finally unveiled the trailer of his much-awaited film Jawan. Jawan, directed by Atlee Kumar is set to release in less than 4 days time. The film, which also stars Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika Padukone, Sanjay Dutt and others, is a high-octane action thriller that promises to showcase Shah Rukh Khan in a never-seen-before avatar.
The film’s music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, who has delivered some catchy songs like Zinda Banda, Chaleya, and Not Ramaiya Vastavaiya. The anticipation for the film is sky-high, not only in India but also in the overseas markets, where Shah Rukh Khan has a massive fan following.
The social media is regularly reporting about the insane ticket sales and it has further enhanced the excitement for the action entertainer. However, Jawan is not the only major release on September 7. The Nun II will also arrive in theatres on the same day. With Jawan getting an unprecedented response from the advance ticket sales, the Hollywood horror film is finding it very tough to get screens.
Gadar 2 And Dream Girl 2 Set To Lose Majority Of Screens
Gadar 2 is almost nearing towards its end of run after crossing massive 500 cr net India today. It’s poetic that Jawan might ensure shortened run of Gadar 2 and it might fall short of Pathaan. Also Dream Girl 2 might fall short of 100 cr coveted mark as it will end up around 95-97 cr net lifetime due to huge reduction in shows from Thursday once Jawan releases.
The Nun 2 Will Suffer To With Poor Showcasing
An exhibitor from Gujarat spoke on condition of anonymity, “I have given 3 Audis to SRK’s Jawan considering its massive hype and advances. It will be tough for me to accommodate any film in more than one show. Also Hollywood film The Nun 2 will be better proposition as such films have better initials and more loyal audience fan base.”
As per source in Bollywood Hungama, “And it’s not like The Nun II will not find an audience. It’s a huge franchise. The previous part, The Nun (2018), collected Rs. 8 crores on day 1 and had lifetime earnings of Rs. 46.46 crores. The Nun II can also have healthy collections if it’s given a chance. Just last month, the monstrous blockbuster Gadar 2 set the box office on fire. But it wasn’t the only release. OMG 2 was also released on the same day and did huge business. Similarly, Evil Dead Rise, also backed by Warner Bros, clashed with Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan on Eid 2023 and collected Rs. 36.50 crores. The same model can be successfully applied with Jawan and The Nun II as well.”
Another source said, “The Nun II will be able to get a minimum of 1000 screens. Things will be resolved in a few days.” The horror film releases not just in English but also in dubbed Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions.
