Marvel’s Phase 6 Will Obliterate A Major Endgame Record Twice In 2 Years

Two major records set by Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame are expected to be beaten by Phase 6’s Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. While 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home acted as an epilogue to the MCU’s Infinity Saga, Avengers: Endgame marked the epic conclusion to the Avengers’ battle against the Mad Titan Thanos. Endgame ended the story of the MCU’s original team of Avengers, and while a new Avengers film has yet to be released, Phase 6 will feature two massive crossover events that promise to match, and potentially surpass, the high standard set by Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame.

After the story of the Avengers was developed throughout The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Captain America: Civil War, the majority of the MCU’s heroes came together to battle Thanos in Infinity War and Endgame. In their effort to save the universe, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes joined forces in Avengers: Endgame’s final battle, delivering one of the greatest spectacles of superhero movie adaptations. For a brief period, Avengers: Endgame was the highest-grossing film of all time, so set an incredibly high bar for future Avengers projects in the MCU, but The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars have the potential to beat all of Endgame’s records.

The Kang Dynasty Already Promised A Bigger Battle Than Endgame

The final battle of Avengers: Endgame saw all the MCU’s heroes battling Thanos’ massive army of Chitauri, Outriders, Leviathan, and the Black Order. This delivered Marvel Studios’ biggest battle to date, but 2026’s Avengers: The Kang Dynasty has already been set up to beat this record. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’s mid-credits scene introduced the Council of Kangs, a gathering of variants of Kang the Conqueror who are expected to wage war on the Avengers. Thousands of Kang variants comprise the Council of Kangs, which makes Thanos’ army look minute in comparison, so the MCU’s new Avengers team will have a challenge on their hands in The Kang Dynasty.

Secret Wars Will Beat Endgame’s Hero Record

As well as Avengers: The Kang Dynasty potentially including a much larger villain army than Endgame, Avengers: Secret Wars is expected to obliterate Endgame’s record of the most named heroes in a single battle. Thought to be adapted from Marvel Comics’ 1984 and 2015 Secret Wars events, which included the majority of the Marvel Universe’s heroes and villains in epic crossover storylines, Avengers: Secret Wars is speculated to include characters not only from the MCU, but from other Marvel franchises, too. Endgame included the majority of the MCU’s existing heroes, but Secret Wars can one-up this in the best way possible.

Avengers: Secret Wars has been rumored to not only feature heroes from the current MCU, including the new heroes introduced during Phases 4 and 5, but also legendary heroes from other studios’ Marvel franchises. Mutant characters from Fox’s X-Men franchise could make their way to the MCU in Secret Wars, and antiheroes from Sony’s Spider-Man Universe may also be involved. This could also include the likes of Fox’s Fantastic Four teams, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s versions of Spider-Man, and Wesley Snipes’ Blade, among many others. This means that Secret Wars could be jam-packed with more heroes than any previous superhero film, far surpassing the roster included in Avengers: Endgame.
